Next: Capstan Shafts is a top four-track lo-fi indie dude, who releases like three albums a year at least and has never played live. Capstan Shafts plays live Saturday night at the Stannard Church, in Stannard, Vermont. For the first time ever. How many chances do you get to see a band the first time ever? Like, zero. Here’s one. Capstan’s awesome. Most of his songs are like a minute long. It’s about an hour and half from White River Junction, where my sister Annie just started college. I’m thinking of going — flying into NYC Saturday morning and driving up to Vermont. Anybody else interested? Here’s the Capstan music.

A Tom flirting like mad with no expectation beyond being heard? And legs furled, calves bared in chilly night, what is this especial Amy specifically onto? (Did she really date Hans?) Are any of the words in the air at this moment approaching language or is everything the gentle of gesture, the dance of reflection? This is like long-form serial TV, only with potential for touching.
