hey, kinda dead here lately, so here’s a collection of stuff i like right now:
music (new)
amadou & mariam “welcome to mali” – liking world music more & more in my old age
camera obscura “my maudlin career”
the thermals “now we can see” – fun, lighter album than previous one. check out the title track.
robyn hitchcock “goodnight oslo” – might be my favorite lyricist of all time
the pains of being pure at heart “s/t” – hate the name, like the album

the rezillos “can’t stand the rezillos”- old punk with some female vocals thrown in for good measure
the feelies “crazy rhythms” – new york 1980, wish i was there

lost – great season, keeps me interested & wanting more each week
the duel – guilty pleasure, but i love watching these idiots
simpsons, family guy, 30 rock – hulu faves
sports
bulls/celtics – best 1st round series ever! almost makes me think changing the 1st round from 5 games was a good idea
books
hah! does “learning radiology” and “advanced cardiac life support” count?

av club “the new cult canon” – great movie picks and pretty good reviews
pitchfork “forkast” – love the new version. do yourself a favor and check out flaming lips cover of madonna’s “borderline” and the new black moth super rainbow video. awesome!
