Overall, I didn't think the festival itself was that well run and the sound guys SUUUUUUCKED. But the trip was fabulous....the scenery was stunning (as you can see from Dana's pictures). Met some great people, drank some beers, ate some propane roasted hot dogs (I didn't partake in the impromptu hippie booth's rice krispies but I think that actually was a good thing after seeing Dan Schumo pass out after consuming his).....so all in all I'm glad I went but most likely I wouldn't go back since Chicago fests are just as good and I don't have to buy a plane tix to go to them.

Beastie Boys = danced my ass off! Totally the best set I saw!
Electrelane= Loved them!
the Blow=REEEEEALLY blew! (not really debatable).
Grizzly Bear=decent.
Black Angels=I'm not the biggest fan but they were ok.
Bjork=froze my ass off and had to form a spoontrain in order to prevent frostbite from setting in so I'm sure it would have been really awesome had that not been the case.
Ghostland Observatory = sound cut out mid-performance which sucked but still a great show.
Tokyo Police Club = awesome.
Mirah=like Dana said, you couldn't really hear her that well.
Interpol = sucky that we were so far away but still a good show.
Spoon = I have been disappointed by their live shows in the past but this one was much better than some I have seen.
Arcade Fire= I think you lose a lot of the quality of their live shows when they are in THAT large of a venue. You can't really enjoy the live aspect of the band when the jumbotron camera man is in love with Regine and shows her the entire show!!

I did not get any pictures of Electrelane due to the meanies at security vetoing my camera on day one, but here is my photo diary of the rest of it:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/bausertron/sets/72157600300457802/

It was a fun mini vacation for sure. Woud I do it again??? Eh, maybe if the lineup was unbelievably awesome.

Beastie Boys were the best by far and played sets both nights (1st night on the smaller stage!) Covered a nice range of their catalogue.

Electrelane=Good,
the Blow=Blew (debatable)
Grizzly Bear=Good
Black Angels=Good,
Bjork=Fun, but I was too cold and tired to enjoy it,
Mirah=too quiet,
Interpol & Spoon=solid, but a bit boring,
Arcade Fire=spot on as always, but also a little boring since I just saw the exact same show in Chicago

awwww. We need another DS vacation. suggestions?

It was the most crowded I'd seen the Bottle in a long time. Seemed like a lot of face-value hipsters though - things were a lot less crowded after a few songs.

Electrelane's set wasn't as strong as the past and it seemed like the band was a little frustrated too. Not much addressing the audience or fun, just a pretty straight set. Maybe they were tired. Things aside - the bottle was loud and that was welcoming.

Either way - you should have been there Joe - if only to hear them close w/ Springsteen's 'I'm on Fire'. Yeah. That was the best part of the show. that rocked.
