   Walking distance from downtown Winter Park would be my deciding factor. Other than that, I’ll look more closely at the details.

   My only concern with Winter Walk is that the low number of bedrooms may cause a desperate grab/resentment/cannibalism…

   But since we all seem to be resonable people, I think we could work it out. I vote for either of the first 2.

   I agree with moving fast…Let’s just get this settled so we can concentrate on the fun to be had!!!

   They all look fine to me. But I say we go for one of the cheaper ones so that James and others a little strapped for cash can still come. I don’t really care where I sleep…floor,couch, bed,whatever…so I’d personally be fine with Winter Walk.

   Cool – Em won’t be coming, so I’m not hounding that bedroom anymore.

   I spoke to Devin at Ski Depot Sports (in downtown Winter Park) and he recommended Hi Country Haus.

   It’s 1 block away from the main street and a condo style place on 25 acres of green 3br sleeps 8 and rates for our weekend seem pretty reasonable.

   He also recommended rentskis.com. Apparently you can book rentals online (need height/weight) for anyone of their 3 Winter Park locales, depending on what’s close to the mtn/lodge. They also offer demo packages for a little extra cash – you’ll get better (read newer/safer) equipment.

    And there it goes again – fuck this.

    Walking distance to slopes means driving distance to bars I believe. That’s lame.

    As far as accomodations goes, I’m split. On one hand, it’s all about togetherness and having as many good people there as possible would be the best case scenario – given that logic i’d vote for shittier accomodations.

    On the other hand, i want us all to say it one time…together now…va-ca-shun. That means comfort, ease and niceties. I have not been on a real vacation in a while. So, I really don’t want to worry about a designated driver when going to bars, nor do I want to stay in a place that sucks. If i’m going to pay for this, it’s worth it to me make it enjoyable. I am not a socialist looking for equal accomodations, I am a dude going on…there’s that word again…va-ca-shun.

    I say we average the cash people are willing to spend on lodging – NOT work to the lowest common denominator.

    These places are all close enough in price that I don’t think there’s really a big difference. My two cents is that it would be better to be close to the town/bars rather than the slopes so long as the the place is on the shuttle route.

    jj-socialism is the only way we’re gonna get out of this mess, but i’m fine with being elitist-to a point. remember this: the hotel is essentially a place to sleep and maybe vomit and get the spins. we don’t need faberge eggs and crystal bentleys to get that job done. i think it’s kind of a folly to expect to get all of us together AND have really nice accommodations (you have met me, right? my name’s tom).

    that said, the difference between $30 and $50 a night is…exactly 20 dollars. and we should book soon, lest vince vaughn steal our rooms.

    Stumbling proximity to the bars is worth the extra money.

    I hate camping. My idea of camping is being inconvenienced and then making excuses for it. I’m not going camping.

    So, to take a Tom’s point and drive it home at the expense of being a real fucking asshole, if you can’t afford the extra $20-30 bucks a night you should not be going on vacation in the first place.
